David Hirschfeld has over 30 years of experience working with software startups. His journey began with his first startup, which he successfully exited in 2000 to a publicly traded company in Toronto. Alongside his professional accomplishments, David and his wife raised four remarkable sons, all now thriving in their own right. Reflecting on their success, David credits the experience with teaching him that true achievement is less about control and more about recognizing patterns and embracing the unexpected.
Looking back on his first startup, David acknowledges that many of his early successes were more a matter of luck than deliberate strategy. In 2007, David founded Tekyz Inc., a custom software development firm focusing on startups and scaleups. Over the next 12 years, as he worked over 90 startups, he began identifying the key differences between those that succeeded and those that fail. In late 2019, he an epiphany about the consistent patterns that consistently lead some founders to success.
This insight led David to develop the Launch 1st Method, a framework designed to reduce the risks, costs, and time involved in starting a software company. The method empowers founders to minimize reliance on outside funding while ensuring that every investment in software development contributes directly to building a thriving business.
